- Description: Some maintenance of my dustiest archives uncovered some early internet video gems. I had to share the wealth with you at Christmas!
- Author: Geoff Anderson

I have been doing some clean up on my home NAS (network attached storage) and I found a musty old folder titled simply "Videos".

Curious, I clicked on it, and hoo-boy, it was a blast from the past. The early days of the internet it was dominated by low-res videos, low frame rates. Pre-YouTube, but it was possible to "grab" the files. They were often .wmv or .mov formatted, but they provided a lot of fun back in the day. Here are some of the ones I popped into Handbrake to convert to something usable today.

## #1 - Clinton's Final Days

This was a parody that was filmed and edited by the Clinton administration. Even if you hated the man, it was gold.

Just watch it.

## #2 - Parkinglot Warfare

There was a TV show from the early 'aughts called "Malcolm in the Middle". It was mid at best, but it did have it's moments.

Tell me you don't fantacize about this...

## #3 - A Few Good Expenses

If you have ever worked in a business closely with sales people, this one will resonate. A re-cast from A few good men, this is something that will sound familiar.

Yes, he did expense the lap dances!

## #4 - Homebase - A breakup gone bad

No context here, but there was a site called iFilm that had some amazing shorts. The production values on this were exquisite for the era, and it caused more than a few chuckles.

Ok, one more, I promise.

## #5 - Truth in Advertising

I had a short clip of this, but later the full 12 minute video was dropped to Youtube, so I will link to it here.

I promise that this is fully worth the watch, and I dare you to not share it with at least one more person...

Merry Christmas!
