- Description: Episode 2 of my way of coping with all the onanism on the coming blue wave (that I fear will be less wave, and more of a wading pool - we shall see in 17 days). Enjoy the guitar hero you likely didn't know about.

Unless you are a guitar nerd, the odds that you know the name Guthrie Govan is about as high as the chances of Jessica Alba appearing at my door to whisk me to a wild weekend on the French Riviera (in other words, do not hold your breath).

But Govan is one of a rarified circle of full stack threats in the guitar world. He looks like the hippie you grew up across the street from in the 1970's[1](https://www.sweatyspice.com/music-the-aristocrats/#fn1) but man can he *play*.

I have a couple of videos of him with his band, The Aristocrats, where he and Marco Minnemann and bass player Brian Beller just destroy it.

More on the avoiding the fuckery of the election nonsense, expect music to be a consistent theme.

[1](https://www.sweatyspice.com/music-the-aristocrats/#end1) \- seriously, Edward Ciramelli who lived across the street from me in Sunnyvale, California in the 70's looked just like Guthrie. He smoked pot, raced motocross, and flew guidewire model airplanes. Decades later, our paths crossed at Keysight where he was an electrical engineer, and I was a product manager.
