# No, I will not allow ads Atlantic...

I’ve been a paid subscriber of [The Atlantic](https://www,theatlantic.com/?ref=sweatyspice.com) for several years. I like (much of) their reporting, and the cost is worth it for me.

I also use an ad blocker. Have for at least a decade now.

Every time I log into The Atlantic and click on an article, I get a pop-up that urges me to allow ads on The Atlantic.

Um, how best to put this…

FUCK OFF. I pay you $160 a year for my subscription. You have made money off of me, so I do not feel even the slightest twinge that I am cheating you out of money by blocking ads.

It would be different if you weren’t the worst whores in the business about your paywall[1](#footnote-1). 

How about this. I will turn off my ad blocker, IFF[2](#footnote-2) you make gifted links valid for more than 14 days. 

What, you’re not going to do that? Then fuck you, the adblocker stays active.
