1980's SciFi Cheese: a soft spot in my heart

As a Gen X denizen, I have a fondness for the 80's vintage Science Fiction movies. My favs? The Schwarzenegger movies are tops in my book!

True confession time. I love cheesy 1980's Science Fiction movies. The cheesier the better.

Sure, there are some exemplars that hold up, like Bladerunner, or Outland. But Robocop, Total Recall, The Running Man, et. al.? Just hook them to my veins.

None are more cheesy than the Schwarzenegger pair of films. 1987's The Running Man, an adaptation of a Stephen King novel, and 1990's Total Recall an adaptation of a Phillip K. Dick short story.

Both are dystopian future stories, with plenty of grit, glam, and completely hole-riddled plot lines.

Doesn't matter. I still love them. In my mind that is the definition of Arnold's career pinnacle. Not Terminator.
