HGotW: We got a basket of trash this week folks!
A fuck-ton of right-wing trash needs to be taken out, so it is a huge basket of human garbage to bin.
The heartfelt adoration of Gus Walz for his father, evidenced by his tears of joy at his father’s acceptance speech at the DNC was something emotional to watch. While I have watched little of the actual event, I have seen the clips, and I get something in my eyes every time I see it.
But clearly there are more than a few broken humans, mostly in the MAGAsphere, who keyed on the 17-year-old Gus and piled on their scorn and hatred at this touching scene, and they spewed their bile, invective, and just shitty takes. Many names floated by, Dinesh D’Souza, Mike Crispi, Terry Shilling, and of course the original shit-bird, Ann Coulter.
All of them pivoted in unison to make fun of Guz, using euphemism after euphemism about how “weak” and “sad” the display of these raw emotions by Guz, as he yelled “That’s my dad!”. Parker Malloy assembled a sampling:
Of particular note is that from that image, Jay Weber, a conservative radio host, based in Wisconsin posted this:
Right-wing radio host Jay Weber was abruptly pulled off the air after making inflammatory remarks about the neurodivergent son of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz. The decision to remove Weber, an I Heart Radio host, came after a wave of public outcry and demands for his termination following his derogatory comments on social media. (link)
I have just two words: Womp womp
Chew on those you asshole. Alas, I am sure this shitbag will land another radio station to spew his toxic blend of shittiness.
Healthcare advocate Kendall Brown played a key role in bringing attention to Weber's comments by posting a screenshot of the offensive tweet on X, formerly known as Twitter. She tagged I Heart Radio and Wisconsin News Talk 1130, the station where Weber’s show airs, questioning how their advertisers would feel about such comments. The post quickly gained traction, amassing over 18,000 retweets and 69,000 likes, amplifying the demand for accountability.
In response to the mounting criticism, Weber attempted to walk back his comments, posting what many perceived as a lackluster apology. He stated that he was unaware of Gus Walz’s neurodivergent status and subsequently removed the tweet. However, Weber also defended his ongoing criticism of Governor Walz, labeling him a "congenital liar" and accusing him of damaging the state of Minnesota. The apology was later deleted, further fueling public outrage.
Weber’s removal from the airwaves was confirmed on Friday when Ben Yount, a fill-in host, appeared in his place. I Heart Radio has not yet issued an official statement regarding the situation, but the decision to take Weber off the air suggests that the network is responding to the intense backlash
This shameful behavior is running rampant in right wing “MAGA” circles, and it is beyond disgusting.
If you thought this after watching that performance, and didn’t post, you are a shitty human being. If you glibly posted to social media this trash, you are part of a YUGE basket of Human Garbage.
The one thing I will say is that even the loathsome Ben Shapiro called out this heinous behavior of his fellow shitbirds, and I have to grudgingly acknowledge that. Yes you fuckwits, you got me agreeing with Ben fucking Shapiro.
If you come across messages like this, your response should be “Who broke you?” and some ridicule.
True trash.
What's hidden beneath their posts is jealousy and a deep-seated woundedness because they did not have the kind of love from and respect for their own fathers that Tim Walz and his son enjoy.
Seeing that kind of love and respect between a father and his son rips the Alpha Male Bandaid off of that gaping, bleeding wound, exposing their pain once again.
But because Alpha Male Bandaid culture tells them that seeking healing for that wound and the loss and pain they feel is a Beta Male thing to do, they turn away from the very things that would bring them true healing, forcing them to remain stuck in the pain and jealousy they feel every time they see men like Tim Walz and his son experiencing the kinds of loving relationships they so wish they could have had with their own fathers.
So they are left with feeling the only negative emotion allowed in Alpha Male Bandaid culture — anger. And — since anger is always a secondary emotion that masks fear, sadness and grief — their sadness and jealousy still eat away at them.
Wanting to be rid of those bad feelings, they project them away from themselves and onto Gus and Tim. That makes them feel temporarily better and even superior, and their deep woundedness remains unhealed until the next time their Alpha Male Bandaid gets ripped off and their deeply wounded hearts are exposed again.
What’s mind blowing is the 10’s of millions of citizens who will vote for those horrible politicians.
Guess they know no disabled individuals, veterans, pregnant women, minorities or immigrants.
They disgust me.
