A long time ago, I watched an interview of one of the greatest classical guitarists of all time, Andres Segovia. He was like 90 years old, and he said that he practiced for 3 hours a day, even at his advanced age. When asked why he still practiced so much, his response? “One day I might get good”
Holy fuckballs, the man was a living god (he passed away in 1987) and his playing was always clear, fluid, and just impressive.
Then I find someone playing Ennio Morricone …
Yeah, do click on that, it is totally worth the watch.
If that wasn’t enough… How about some Dave Brubeck (also on the Guitarré)
Yeah, that is motherfucking Take Five on the solo guitar. Kick ass.
Old dudes still rock!
Thanks. Those were both great. Looked like a martini sitting there in the first one. Maybe that’s the secret.
I know Pablo Casals died at 96. So, if I can live that long I’ve got another 30 years. Better get to work, tho.
Got a ticket for Tommy Emmanuel in New Hampshire in May. Can’t imagine what he’d be like at 96.
Great songs! And thank you for the reminder of Andrés Segovia; I have a few of his albums and I've not listened to any of them in far too long.
