Music: Ayla Tesler-Mabe
Someone I enjoyed when I was still on FB, is still making music, making it her own, and I am totally here for it!
In the way back time (circa 2014 or so) I was a) still on Facebook, and b) on the prowl for killer guitar talent.
One of the people I stumbled on was a young lady who played just awesome covers of classic rock from the 1970s. Plenty of Led Zeppelin is what caught my eye.
Naturally, when I left Facebook, I lost touch with many of these “finds”, but then I stumble across them on Youtube.
Ayla has both grown up, and her music has matured. No longer doing covers to post to Facebook, she writes music.
I should amend that statement. She writes awesome music. And she still plays guitar.
Today, I logged in to find that sometime yesterday, she dropped a new song, and I have to admit that I like it.
If you want to know what caught my eye originally, check these out:
But from the before time, this was the OG. Watching this originally, I knew this young lady had a bright future. Jimmy Page, eat your heart out:
Yeah, I am glad I re-discovered her playing!
I love ‘Am I’! I’ve never heard of her, but she has a unique style and voice. I fell behind on reading Substack, so this was nice to come back to. Thanks!
Damn. I love that first track. She reminds me of Phoebe Greene or The Beths (if you haven't heard 'Expert in a Dying Field' you need to check that one out).
