As I trawl the depths of music YouTube, I am often presented with new and interesting things to dip my toes into. My guess is that the algorithm gods are beginning to combine “novel”, “women performers”, “guitar” and some genres. Today is Bluegrass.
Molly Tuttle is the focus of today’s post, and her interpretation of Neil Young’s excellent song “Helpless”.
Not only is she a multi-instrumentalist, she’s young (just 31) and she has a fantastic voice.
It also turns out that she is a SF Bay Area native too, graduating from Palo Alto high school in 2011. How freakin’ cool is that!
Yes, I am thinking that the future is bright, as long as people like Molly are here.
One of my friends, like Molly, has alopecia. We both love that Molly will occasionally ditch the wig onstage, revealing that bald pate in all its glory and showing all who suffer from this crippling malady, particularly hard on women, that there’s hope. I love artists who use their platform to speak out like that. You never know who it’s going to reach.
She's amazing! I LOVE it when you bring us music!! ❤️❤️
