Music: Rodrigo y Gabriella
A duo out of Mexico have a killer groove and bring an energy that is infectious.
The front matter
Alas, my four and a half years of No-vid has come to an end. Wednesday my wife tested positive, and whilst I tested negative, I could feel the symptoms coming on. Thursday morning I tested positive, and I have to say that I was quickly about as sick as I ever have been (and in my late 20’s I got the real Flu and had to spend a night in the hospital).
Yesterday (Friday) I did some tele-health and got me a script for Plaxovid. Since I have a history of coronary artery disease, this was something my doctor felt I needed. Started the regimen, and the next morning (today) I feel a lot better after getting a decent night’s sleep, and the congestion is way down.
And now, for the main event…
About 20 years ago, I stumbled upon this Mexican duo, Rodrigo y Gabrielle, and I was blown away. The pair are super tight, and their chops play off of each other.
I was entranced then, and I own several of their albums. Every song is great.
But, they also do covers. Their cover of Metallica’s Orion is worth the listen, and of course, they also cover that “song that shall not be played”, always adding their own spice to the arrangement.
First up is Diablo Rojo (literally “Red Devil”) performed live in the Letterman show.
If you liked that, try this, a Metallica cover:

To be totally honest, up until today, I had never heard of this pair of super talented musicians!! To hear them feed off of each other is absolutely fantastic!! Just these two vids make me want to search out more of their stuff!
