Music: Sinfonity
When you say "moar guitar" and they really pile it on. Sinfonity delivers a stunning performance of an iconic Bach composition. This is audio poetry
I have a table on how I rate bands:
0 guitars - no bueno
1 guitar - c’mon yer’ barely trying
2 guitars - getting better
3 guitars - now yer’ talking
-
Shedload of guitars - 👍
Today, we have the “Shedload” of guitars.
Meet Sinfonity, the first Guitar Symphony.
Sinfonity was born from the union of twelve guitar masters, with a desire to explore new ways of expression, and to break the existing boundaries between classical and modern. Their first encounter with their audience took place at the opening of Mérida Classical Theatre International Festival, in 2011. Since then, Sinfonity has visited countless national and international festivals, different countries and continents, with the same end result: unanimously acclaimed by their audience.
Stop, you had me at “twelve guitar masters”, and I was gonna mash that “play” button.
That said, this is one of the most amazing melds of music and instrumentality I have ever heard.
The truth is that adding more guitars usually means that you get multiple egos all in tension like the standoff from the movie Reservoir Dogs:
Everyone trying to be the alpha. But Sinfonity is just beautiful, like a symphony, where every musician, every instrument has a part of the melody, each a thread in a complex tapestry, that when woven together delivers a wall of audible bliss that delightfully assaults your senses.
This is truly delightful, and I hope you enjoy this as much as I did.
Thanks for the symphony! Amazing!
Beautiful.
