Music: The Breaking Winds
I clicked because of the name, I subscribed because they are great.
When you see the title of a band being “The Breaking Winds” scroll across your Youtube feed, the inner 13-year-old within you snickers, and of course you click on the link.
And this one was the 1812 Overture, again, that inner 13-yuear-old takes over, because canon fire.
Turns out that it is a quartet of Bassoon players (all women too- yay!) and holy-moly, they are good. Scratch that, they are great, and this is a great arrangement of this iconic piece of music for the Bassoon.
Still, the inner 13-year-old grins at the name of this group. I just can’t help it. At least my inner 13-year-old didn’t buy Twitter and screw it up.
I hope you enjoy this diversion. And yes, I subscribed to their channel.
I’ve never heard an oboe, let alone 4, being played solo. How beautiful they sound.
Thanks for your post!!!
I have always loved this piece, and this arrangement was beautiful. Thanking you for breaking the news on The Breaking Winds"!
