Music: The Rock Orchestra
A phenomenal interpretation of a Metallica classic, this chilling performance will blow your socks off.
As I try to avoid reading about things like Dan “dirtbag” Bongino being appointed as deputy director of the FBI, and Don Jr’s hunting buddy being tapped to run food safety at the USDA, I continue my spiral into my safe cocoon of music.
My mornings start way too early (I am an unrepentant morning person, much to the dismay of my lovely wife) so I hunt around Youtube for music that tickles my fancy. Mostly, I post the tracks I find to Substack Notes, but when I stumble across something that really reaches down my spine to curl my toes, I draft a new post.
Today, my discovery of “The Rock Orchestra,” an ensemble playing a classic Metallica track, Nothing Else Matters, is one where my mind is BLOWN.
The orchestra invites the vocalist from Halocene to belt out the lyrics, and delivers a chilling adaptation of this fine Metallica tune:
Just delightful!
I saw them live a few weeks ago. They were excellent.
Have you not discovered the “Symphony and Metallica” albums, where the original band fronts the orchestra? They’ve been around for a number of years. Big, fat, glorious sound. This is really good, too.
