Musical Interlude: Jeff Kollman
In the 90's I was getting serious about finding my sound. Part of that journey was paved by Jeff Kollman's music, both solo and with his combo. He is back, and he is in fine form
From back when I still harbored dreams of being a rockstar guitar player, I went on a soul search to find people who I admired and could be inspired by. I had all the big names. Van Halen, Gary Moore, Vinnie Moore, Randy Rhoads, and many many more. I also latched on to some more grounded players, and even some hard jazz.
One name I came across and instantly fell for was Jeff Kollman. He was a shredder/jazzman, and his combo, Cosmosquad had some just killer jams.
He went on to do a lot of things, even stepping into one of the incarnations of Asia.
While browsing Youtube today, I saw a new video of his, “Tribal Scream” and clicked on it. Wow.
Apparently, it is the first drop of a new album (that I will buy the day it comes out in May) and man, it all rushed back into focus.
Hard hitting, rhythmic, with a killer vibe all the way through. This is a little more that 5 minutes of in-your-face rock.

You will not be disappointed!
