# We lost another one: Paul DiAnno original singer for Iron Maiden has passed

Well, that ruins my afternoon. I just learned from the NY Times that Paul DiAnno, the original singer for Iron Maiden, [has passed away ash the ripe old age of 66.](https://www.nytimes.com/2024/10/21/arts/music/paul-dianno-iron-maiden-dead.html?unlocked%5Farticle%5Fcode=1.T04.bNuf.hoZ6CeK23JjJ&smid=url-share&ref=sweatyspice.com)

Damn, he was only 7 years older than me. That cuts close to the bone.

I will spin a couple of my favorites from his era in memory.
