While I can believe that the Biden administration may have let this happen (or the Obama administration or the Bush administration. . .), given this particular administration's dishonesty and desperation to find someone to blame for all of their screwups, I would like corroboration from the IG who was investigating.

Remember the Signal chat? If it goes wrong, we blame Biden.

My first IT job, in the run-up to Y2K, was a three month gig providing desktop support at American Century, the big financial outfit. They had so many IBM computers they had an office of IBM Global Services right there in the building.

Imagine my surprise when I get a “can’t print” ticket from that office. I go check it out - everything looks fine but nothing’s printing. After a bit of head-scratching and a trip back to my desk for research, I figure out the issue. This particular printer had a little panel on the front that opened up for an ink/toner cartridge about the size of a pack of cigarettes. But when I opened that panel and tried to remove the cartridge, I couldn’t do it. Wound up having to dig the damn thing out with my pocket knife, and discovered the problem. The idiot who replaced the cartridge had failed to remove the shrink wrap from it. There was a part of the label that lifted up and made a little tab to pull the cartridge out with, but it wouldn’t work because the tab was inside the shrink wrap.

Best part of all? IBM Global Services is the division of IBM that provides . . . wait for it . . . technical support.
