"like a rabid beaver building a dam." 😂😂 You knew I would like on this before I even finished what you were saying! Superb! I did see JT in Jacksonville, Florida once...a tad tipsy, if I recall. It was marvelous!
Great rendition!! I gave my $10 ticket (does anyone remember when going to a concert wasn’t a gouge?) to Tull to a friend for reasons I can’t remember (maybe grounded for something?) Huge regret. My only consolation is having seen The Who when Keith Moon was still alive.
I do. I remember that a Day on the Green ticket was like $18, and you got 4-6 bands, and a full day/evening of great music.
A decade or so ago, when McCartney was doing a tour (maybe 2008?) I overheard the baggers at my local grocery story talk about buying tickets for $750.
For $750, Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin need to be resurrected.
Coincidentally I saw them on that tour in Denver. I was stationed at Lowry AFB for tech school. They played Glens Falls years later. Martin Barré comes here to play the Strand in Hudson Falls nowadays fairly regularly. Ian Anderson may be busy with his fish farms.

We sneaked in as ushers and my friend “confiscated” weed. :-)

Exactly! I was at the first California Jam. Can’t remember the ticket price but guessing around $15? 8 bands and a hell of a party.

No one could rock a flute like Ian Anderson.
Yeah, no one else even tried that I can recall. Like Weird Al and accordion.
Totally jealous.
My other favorite live song is Minstrel in the Gallery. That guitar of Martin is just magical.
Yep, loved it!
I was lucky enough to catch them in 1972 at the Nassau Coliseum on their Thick as a Brick tour.
Totally bummed, but alas, 7 year old myself wasn't a fan yet ;-)
Good stuff Geoff. Keep em coming.
