Beth Hart
An amazing talent, Beth brings sultry, smoky, and an edgy rasp to deliver the goods.
I discovered Beth Hart probably a decade ago. It was a collaboration she did with Joe Bonamassa, and while I was there for Joe’s guitar work, her voice was just chilling it was so good. Range, depth, however you measure her pipes, it was clear she was (and is) an amazing talent.
I went on to buy a bunch of Joe’s albums some where the vocals were provided by this amazing woman.
I also bought a tribute album Beth did of Led Zeppelin songs, and her voice really captured the young Robert Plant’s magic, delivering a chilling rendition.
Today, I was browsing around Youtube and I stumbled across this gem. A collaboration with Joe Bonamassa, it is smoky groove with blues and some swing roots that just sends shivers down my spine. Her vocal artistry combined with an authentic blues vibe from Joe is a match made in Heaven.
This is what I am talking about!
Bonus - The Led Zep tribute
Looking for links whilst writing this I found this full album upload to Youtube of the Beth Hart Led Zeppelin tribute.
I promise you, put on the headphones, press play, close your eyes and just drink in the tasteful renditions that would make the Led Zep men nod and say “well done”.
Thank you for introducing me to some pretty awesome music through your Substack! What a voice!
Very nice. Check her out with Jeff Beck “I’d Rather Go Blind” at the Kennedy Center or “Goin Down” with Beck 2013.
