Geoff, I know what you mean about Beth Hart! I recall reading the words of Joe Bonamassa when he was looking for a new voice for his music! Beth only agreed if her name went first on anything they did together.
On a side note: I own (on my phone) the album of Blues cover tunes they did. Title is “Black Coffee”. Check it out, if Blues is your thing, you’ll like it!
I was first turned onto Joe’s music when he released “Different Shades of Blue”. Since then, I’ve purchased quite a few of his albums and a couple of live videos
OMG, I love her voice. Haven’t yet listened to that Led Zeppelin album but I can assure you I SHALL! Led Zeppelin has carried me through good times and bad. Thank you Geoff!
And as you mentioned Joe B - didn’t she tour with him for a while? She can sing anything! She should be well known and should have been for a very long time. I would put her in the category of my fav Janis and that is the highest honor I can give!!
Oh man you are bring out my favorites and she is definitely that!! She is AMAZING. Her singing to Buddy Guy at the Kennedy Center was great as Jeff Beck was on guitar but her music is so damn good it blows the doors off of a lot of top singers. The story of her life so far - which I believe is on YouTube now, is interesting - parts terribly sad and a lot of the blues bringing her voice truth.
I am a HUGE fan of hers and have been for several years.
Love this one! She is so fucking great. I can’t decide if “I’d Rather Go Blind” or this one is my favorite: “Chocolate Jesus. This is the first one of hers that I heard (IIRC).
The Chocolate Jesus is great, a true hat tip to the early 20th century delta blues where they cautiously questioned the churched who would sling vile slurs at black folk.
😂 once again I did not read comments until after I posted! That was an awesome showing for Anothef Winner Buddy Guy! He and Muddy Waters are my favorite blues guys!

Yep, I have that album, and it is fantastic

Thanks for introducing me to Ms. Hart. Blown away doesn’t describe it. What a voice.

Sweaty Spice: Beth Hart's voice is electrifying and her voicing of the Robert Plant classics -- my God, what a WONDER!
Thank you so much for SHARING!
I am keeping Beth Hart's website:

Another winner!!
Excellent choice!!
Very nice. Check her out with Jeff Beck “I’d Rather Go Blind” at the Kennedy Center or “Goin Down” with Beck 2013.

Just a great tune!
“You got to be a chocolate Jesus to keep me satisfied”.

The clip was smokin'. Looking forward to listening to the Zep tribute.
Agree! I’ve listened to some Beth and Joe collaborations and it’s excellent. ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for introducing me to some pretty awesome music through your Substack! What a voice!
You have no idea how happy that makes me!
Ditto!
Beth Hart is the real deal!!!
