The main reason I owned both an Xbox360 and an Xbox-One was to play prior versions of this racing franchise. I retired the Xbox a few years ago (it sits alone in the garage storage area), and the one game I missed was Forza.
Lately I started playing the open world version of Forza, called Horizon, but it is just silly. They try so hard to make it addictive, and it just doesn’t work for me1.
When the next version of Forza Motorsport was announced, it was going to be available for the PC as well as on the Xbox. For the first time I won’t need to invest in a new Xbox to essentially play a single game. Yay.
I pre-ordered it a couple of months ago. The game is formally released on October 10. Early access has been provided to Youtube content creators to partly beta test, but also to give some previews for the throngs awaiting the formal release. And I have watched several. Yes, my anticipation is high.
I do not mind plopping down the $60 for the title. I will easily get that much enjoyment out of it. But if I just bought the VIP Edition, for an additional $35, I could have had access to play as of October 52.
Hmmm, $7 a day to get early access.
No thank you. I can wait until the 10th3.
This is my take. It is hugely popular, and I guess a lot of people like racing off-road in Porsche’s and McLaren’s
Well, the VIP package does provide more goodies, some extra cars, and swag. Not worth the extra money tho.
Well, it is October 10, GMT, so about 5PM on the 9th here on the west coast of the USA.
