You’ve convinced me to watch it😁I’m not a Marvel fan but love quirky thoughtful animation. Wall-E is a favourite

I agree and the fan of the movie in me says “I’d love a third incredible” but the inner movie lover knows the inherent risks of overextending franchises, and the dangers they bring.

I love the Incredibles - and for that matter, a large chunk of the *kids* offerings from the early 2000’s. My son was little at the time (he’s turning 30 this week) so we got to experience all of these movies with some frequency. It was the dawn of the *kids movies not just for kids* era where they tried (and sometimes failed, Monsters, Inc. anyone?) to add enough innuendo to keep them interesting for parents while making them fun for kids.

No kidding on the good for both adults and kids. I am thinking back to Shrek, and it has plenty of innuendos that the young viewers don't grok but are there to throw some fun for the parents.

It was the predominant way to make kids movies back then. Since mine is now all grown up and I’m blessedly not a grandparent yet at the ripe old age of 53, I’ve gotten out of the habit of watching new kids movies. Hoping by the time I am forced to watch these types of movies again that some of the new stuff is as good as the stuff from the early 2000s, but given the state of Hollywood and the garbage they’re releasing for adults, I’m not holding my breath. Everything now for kids seems to be based on video game IP.

PS. Just downloaded Unfamiliar Fishes and am excited for a new perspective. Thanks for the tip!

I took my kids to every kid movie for years. Staying awake during some of them was difficult. Not so The Incredibles. Can’t remember if I saw the sequel.

I also don’t go for superhero movies and LOVE The Incredibles!

I do rewatch them happily. Definitely never boring. I have the DVDs but admittedly these days I stream them on Disney+. And you’re not wrong, the detail rendered on a 70” television and fancy signal is delicious.

I know, it is just so ... wholesome and fun.

I suspect the voice cast enjoy their script read throughs.

I’m Deaf, so I don’t know the voices specifically. What I can say is I saw a behind the scenes and was really struck by the side by side animation and actor in a recording booth and the care the animators took to really capture facial expressions and gestures and all the body language involved. It really was a collaborative process, and I enjoyed seeing that.
