Money Well Spent: Donations to The Satanic Temple
Well spent indeed!
Several months ago, I was really pissed about some wankstain shitbird who did something asinine about abortion (restricting it) and I was recommended to donate to The Satanic Temple, as they run charities to help people in fucked up states get access to healthcare (c.f. Abortions), in specific their “Samuel Alito’s Mom’s Abortion Clinic”. Because fuck Alito with a cactus.
I also tossed them recurring donations (the main TST site) monthly because if they are fucking with Alito, they are my kind of people.
Today, I got a nice note from them and not only did I chuckle, I decided to double my monthly gift to them. I am quoting it in toto below:

In an important victory in Florida, The Satanic Temple (TST) has instigated a temporary pause in Osceola County School District’s plans to place religious chaplains in their public schools.
After plans were announced and endorsed by the governor, The Satanic Temple let the school board know that we intend to participate and have our chaplains provide support and religious guidance to students. Curiously, this made the school board rethink its policy.
As the situation in Osceola evolves, this pause highlights the need for vigilance in defending public institutions from theocratic overreach. The Satanic Temple is uniquely positioned to challenge biased religious extremism by forcing theocrats to allow all faiths in public spaces, including ours, as protected under the First Amendment.
This victory is worth celebrating, but the fight is far from over. Schools across Florida are being encouraged to adopt an unconstitutional policy, and the issue of school chaplains may go beyond Florida.
