Yay to the Satanists! Those gnarly little trouble makers. TG we have people like them who willingly stir the pot (and perhaps smoke it too) and upset the attempts of those phony

Christians to push their pretend beliefs down our throats or is it our windpipes? Thanks for donating to them. 😈👹

I have to admit, the name makes me uncomfortable. But that’s not necessarily a bad thing, in that it makes me question what I do believe (always a good thing). I believe in the 7 tenets of TST, and I don’t really think there is a literal Hell or Satan, but there’s something deep in my Christian psyche that would prevent me from giving. Though I think Jesus would approve of the 7 tenets as well. I’ll ponder some more…..

I wonder if this will help?

No, they do not worship the devil, and other myths dispelled in new book on satanism

Satanists don't worship the devil any more than Followers of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster worship umm... a flying spaghetti monster (all hail the Noodly one!)

As Geoff has explained, its an atheist protest 'church'. It is non-theistic. It doesn't worship anything.

The article says:

“Time and time again, it is society’s outcasts,” she said, “that are labeled as Satan’s bedfellows and suffer consequences from ostracism to jail and executions.”

The biggest misconception today, she said, is that modern satanism has no values. “This leads to a number of consequences, from satanists being deemed evil and shunned, to being denied fair and equal access to public forums.”

The Salem-based Satanic Temple is a religious organization that pushes for the strict separation of church and state and other civil rights issues. It claims about 700,000 registered members around the world.

Most satanists are nontheistic, La Carmina said, and they view Satan as a symbol, not a god.

Satanism appeals to people who feel marginalized in some way"

Yes for sure ponder! I’ve just read Geoff’s post and I’m pondering like Hell right now. Please *someone* (Geoff, anyone?) is it possible that TST folks are active in challenging the shitty Louisiana mandate of placing a plaque of the Ten Commandments in every school classroom? Nothing chaps my ass more than religious hypocrisy — even more chap factor than “normal” hypocrisy. I think I saw that the ACLU (?) has already filed suit. But seems like forcing the fucking holier than thou bigots to get a load of the TST tenets I’ve seen mentioned by forcing a side by side plaque of them with the Old Testament “sacred” mandates would be in order. How many of the ten holy “Shalt Nots” do GOP officials and religious zealots get caught violating on the daily? Not rhetorical 😼

I wonder if the TST preachers support Trans rights too by turning up in Rocky Horror Show costume?

Epic trolling by the TST there. :o) Bravo!

Do they ordain? I’m a priest in the Church of the Latter Day Dude. All I had to do was print out my certificate. As a Dudist Priest that’s really enough effort.

For the record, I didn’t pay anything. I see they’re selling a kit or something. The Abide Guide is great tho.
