I'm 70 years old and always liked Cash 's music. My favorite of his early music was "Man In Black." I enjoyed the late Rick Reuben produced music. A final reflection on his life. Cash always struck me as a man of compassion who had a deep sense of justice.
I’ve thought of a band I think I’d like to turn you on to.. Thee Oh Sees! I’d recommend Orc as an introductory album (it was mine). It’s a ferocious mix of 60’s psychedelia and 21st century sound manipulation and production. If you check it out, let me know what you think. If you’ve already heard them, please pardon me and disregard this message😆
Love the piano on this track. 😎
Would agree and have been thinking we need to stay alert because there is a long way to go still.
I have the Johnny Cash 3 cd Love, God and Murder set that I love. It’s been a while but it’s time I fell in love again.

Holy moly, they are great. First song I clicked on was Toe Cutter - Thumb Buster, and wow, I am grooving on this.
Excellent recommendation!
Right on! The other bonus with them is their ultra-prolific nature… They debuted in ‘00 and have released 28 albums. Glad you’re enjoying them!
Excellent!! Not sure if you saw or write the comment but it is so perfect

My favorite cover by Johnny Cash is Hurt (Nine Inch Nails).
Geoff’s post encouraged me to listen to “Hurt” again. It’s NOT a “little bit of sunshine” but it is beautiful, and poignant.

Wow thanks - had not seen or heard this one. Really emotional and he opened his heart ♥️
"HURT" feels, to me, like Cash is doing a reflection on his life.
Me too. If you want watch the video it is clear.
Just amazing!
It felt to me like he was summing up his long life in that song.
“Life is rough so you gotta be tough”. Johnny Cash
