Music: Judas Priest
Old school metal from the 1970's, still rocks, and the Priest still delivers all the amperage needed at live shows
On this most holy day of shopping, one must have fuel for the mayhem that will be encountered, if you get anywhere near a mall.
That means you need some of the heavy shit.
And today, I will serve up a true classic that may not be from the radio playlists, “Victim of Changes (Epitaph)”.
In the way-back, Judas Priest released an album called “The Sad Wings of Destiny”, and it was fuckin’ epic on all axes. It was going on, and it was released back when the protostars of the burgeoning “heavy metal” scene were coalescing into the future hot-stars of the coming universe1.
Before “You’ve got another thing coming” or “Living After Midnight”, this album rocked. HARD.
The entire album is just epic, but one track did make it into their rotation to be played live, and that is Victim of Changes”.
Below, you can see why this was a fan and band favorite.
Whilst I am not seeing KK Downing, this must mean it is not too old (as if you couldn’t tell by the quality of the video), but even without his long blond tresses, the band stands up and delivers. 🤘
I hope you enjoyed that trip down memory lane, and if you are headed out to the malls, may the good lord have pity on your soul.
The album was released in 1976, that is 48 years ago!!!!!!
Damn that rocked! Remember it and still love it!!
Yesterday listened to both CDs of “The Essential Judas Priest.”.Love the standards but “The Sentinel” stands out to me. Take care on your Black Friday excursion.
