I suggest digging up the album known as "Norman Blake/Tut Taylor/Sam Bush/Butch Robins/Vassar Clements/David Holland/Jethro Burns". I, a pop rock folk listener, bought this vinyl on a whim in the late 70s. Never heard of any of these musicians prior. Changed my musical outlook immediately.
Wow , he is a great guitar player , that I honestly never heard of till today . Thank you for that .Geoff . peace
I fell into your rabbit hole, and a tunnel led me to Alison Krauss. Which elicited this. https://youtu.be/SDfBxudHWIA?si=Gm8fa7-8ad0nfcOt

Didn’t Vassar play with Jerry Garcia?
Old and In The Way. Another rabbit hole. Led me to David Grisman and Dawgrass and Dawgjazz
