Good and timely advice! I didn’t realize that context like that could become public, outside of the data market/ selling scenario. Which is bad enough

Before that ChatGPT update was rolled back, I noticed the extra compliments and such. But I caught on right away, because I have a low self-esteem >> instant dissonance and hits on my radar.

Llol… kidding; USED to have a lower self esteem. Better now. But still have that radar…

Another great post, G.

I have more FB friends than I used to, but it's still less than 100 (five of whom are now deceased, and another ten or so never use the program). I mainly keep FB to keep in touch with people who are not on any other platform and do not live close to me. That being said, I access it behind a VPN (typically using a European country, so that I can decline all the extra cookies). I also use a plug-in that keeps FB from tracking me. I also took it off of my phone. I switched to Discord to k.i.t. with everyone else.

I use ChatGPT to bounce ideas off of or to generate code snippets for me when I too lazy to do it. There were a few horror stories recently about some people who were convinced by it that they were 'prophets'¹. I would NEVER share anything with it that I wouldn't want to be googled. I cannot imagine why anyone would.

I have around 200 Facebook friends, most of them people I know real life. The ones I don't are people I met online a decade or so ago at the least. I don't understand the appeal of having thousands of Facebook friends. I use my account to keep in touch with people I don't see in real time like out of town relatives and high school classmates. This is one reason why I overshare. The other is that I'm indiscreet as fuck 😂

Left Facebook and I think my blood pressure dropped. Until today. Jesus, this fucking country is off the rails. But back to your point, are people so desperately lonely they need to talk to AI???

I’m pretty confident that my former client is using ChatGPT for some stuff I used to do.

Fuck that.

When my kids were small, their pediatrician told me that three good friends that have your back is enough.

I would never consider confiding in an AI chatbot, especially one from Meta (I dumped all that shit too). I won’t have Alexa in my house either.
