Republicans like those on The Bulwark don’t give two shits about the Democratic Party or promoting progressive or (God forbid!) liberal policies. They are only concerned with rehabbing the Republican Party by ending Trump’s political career. I love the ads the Lincoln Project puts out, but they are merely anti-Trump. That’s fine. That’s their mission, but their ultimate goal is to get the old band back together and resurrect The Reagan Republicans. Reagan was a piece of shit. Fuck him. He was an asshole who did nothing that didn’t benefit his wealthy donors and corporations. Fuck Reagan. Go read up on Reagan’s response to AIDS if you have any doubts. Harris talks at every rally about her goals and priorities and they demand thousand-page position papers, truly trying to set her up. And Longwell and Miller on their Bulwark podcasts keep whining about how Nikki Haley would’ve been so great and would’ve won.
So yeah, they will abandon the Dems as soon as the GOP gets their act together. Do not trust them or their opinions. They are republicans through and through.

Why won’t Harris keep the agenda that Biden and his team have started ! It’s working she should complete what his vision are in honor of him putting American first, again also because it’s working. The second 4years of her admission she can set her own agendas. 🗽💪🏾😊

I left this on Alicia Norman’s Substack the other day (you also had several excellent comments on that thread) and am reposting it here.
This is more of a “if the shoes fits” statement, rather than being aimed at any particular group or individual.
Even if you leave Trump out of the equation, you see that every one of those “Classic Republican” assholes bought into massive tax reductions for the rich and “trickle down economics” for the poor and middle class. These have been standard GOP economic “principles”for the last 40 years. Principles that has created a class of billionaires and cast thousands of families into poverty while gutting the middle class.
Added to that, I don’t know of any one of them that sincerely spoke up for basic civil and human rights for women, BIPOC, or LBGTQ+ people, or anyone for that matter. It is, and always has been about them maintaining their privilege, and they’re still doing it.
Just because Reality is now biting them on their privileged asses and they’re fighting to stay relevant doesn’t mean they’ve changed anything of consequence.
