How about JD threw his wife ‘under the couch’ instead of under a bus?

I have trouble reading this, Geoff. Now, I am not a devout Catholic, even though I was born into the faith. I'm not even a devout Christian, even though my father was nominally a Lutheran and converted to Catholicism to marry my mother. I guess I could be called a humanist. I do have a lot of trouble with what I see as a permissive hammering away at adherents of the Catholic faith.

JD Vance's shitty pronouncements and his alarming attitude towards women arise from naked ambition, opportunism, a pervasive atmosphere of personal slander within the Republican/MAGA Party, suspicion of women and dislike of them. He is vomiting up a bunch of old tropes that share much with anti-woman prejudices of the past. But I am willing to bet you that he is a really crummy Catholic.

Usha was JD’s DEI hire.

How much English does she speak? We've all met dudes with purchased partners.

She apparently speaks fluent Handmaid’s Tale.

J D Vance is a misogynistic, malignant narcissist, just like Trump, and incapable of ordering a doughnut. Weird.

It’s interesting that in my Grandmother’s time, women could only teach if they were unmarried. They were also not allowed to cohabitate with males even in a boarding house. Once they married, they had to give up teaching. Wonder how the couch potato patch kid explains that?

Well, well, well, he never knew cause he was required to know cause that's "woman's work."

There wasn't one decent Republican to run on the ticket because, you know...Trump. 🙄 JD's hypocrisy is staggering...He rants against gay people while his benefactor, Peter Theil, is gay. But I guess when a gay guy is worth Nine BILLION, he gets a pass. JD is an awkward, angry moron, the worst combination.

Peter T hates gays too. Must be one of the "log cabin" republicans we all thought were mythological.

know who else hates gays cause he's gay?!! what country that invaded Ukraine has outlawed gays?!! who do these guys admire?!!

I don't doubt that for a moment. My suspicions are always raised when a "manly-man" exhibits his "manliness" for hordes of "admiring men" so they can hold him up to ALL the other "men"as a shining example of the "manliest man of all."

Yup, you got it!

The Vaticans conspiracy to re-Colonize the world-- its fundamental Roman Empirical basis, and this Substack Notary's belief on Christianity-- is expressed in its Domination and subsequent Delegitimization of The United States Supreme Court and Law in The United States of America.

Trump, a Colonizer with Zikläg and Koch Brothers backing(Protestant) seeks to homogenize American culture through Christian Religiosity as Henry VIII’th or Pope Gregory IX-- just so no one talks about Lolita Island and how shitty it really is in Florida because of the Mira Lago Pan-Atlantic Oligarchy.

They give a damn about your immortal soul, just read the word so you stop talking about how creepy the PanAtlantic American Oligarchy is.

I attended a “townhall” hosted by one of our county commissioners here (Hillsborough County, FL - we are a fun county to look up re: frivolous lawsuits) who has thrown a complete SHITFIT regarding a begged for one millage rate proposed tax on our November ballot for an increase in teacher pay. We are one of the largest school districts out there, over 500 teachers short, and one of the absolute lowest paid.

One of his arguments? Why should childless people (his example is seniors on fixed income-who he absolutely does not care about otherwise) pay an increased tax that only benefits people with children. Teachers should teach because education is important and they feel a calling, not by burdening taxpayers, especially childless taxpayers.

I super duper hate him for other reasons, but my mind cannot comprehend his logic here. I could rant for hourssss about other issues but I’m a dutiful county employee who won’t speak ill of my boss’s bosses.

Remember when we did things for the COMMON GOOD ? I do. My kids are grown and out of school, but the most important tax I pay is for educating the next generation who will, one day soon, lead this country into the future. But Republicans, and MAGA in particular, rely on a large uneducated part of the population to vote for them. And they don’t want any taxes. I guess they don’t mind their roads crumbling or bridges falling down or water or sewer or someone scraping the dead animals off the road. Everything is only ever about how things affect them personally. Zero empathy.

I’m in Hillsborough County as well. If DeSatan would correctly allot money to our educational system instead of lining the pockets of cronies, we wouldn’t need an increase of millage. Our representatives since Jeb Bush have been curtailing educational funding yearly and working toward a voucher system all to break the teachers union in a “right to work” (for nothing) State. The losers are our children’s future and the taxpayers.

Howdy neighbor! It’s been infuriating to watch, and while I thought (still think) Scott was the absolute worst scum of the earth and possibly most corrupt governor, he’s definitely got competition from DeSatan. I’m a Tampa native, graduate of our public school system, and in the 20+ years since I was in school I’ve watched it progressively decline. I’m honestly worried about sending my kids to school here.

I went to Wostal’s “townhall” just to listen on Thursday. He couldn’t even get 30 people there, including his own MAGA supporters. There were more county employees manning the county services booths than attendees. He is insufffffffffferable. I work for a county agency, and he became our chair immediately after being elected and he has absolutely no idea what we do. My executive director was at the event and I had to try soooo hard to keep a neutral face 😂

My wife and I are childless (not for lack of trying and about $80k of IVF) and I vote for EVERY assessment to support our local public schools. It is just the right thing to do.

Thanks for the comment!

Ugh, I am so sorry you have been through that. We were a fertility treatment couple ourselves, so while I cannot fully understand the pain I remember the experience and heartbreak before having our two. It was several years, and we happily supported all of our (really weak) taxes for our schools (people actually fought against a small one that helped repair the HVAC systems in the aging schools- IN FLORIDA).

My oldest is eligible for prek this year but cannot attend due to cancer treatment, and when he is able to go he will need an IEP plan and accommodations as a result of his treatment. Those accommodations are not fully guaranteed if the teacher and staff shortages persist.

I will rage ALL DAY about Florida education system, our taxes structure, our county government, and just Florida in general. I love it here, but fuck they make it hard to even like it.
