I drive a gas-burning Malibu, but not very much, I rationalize.

I never buy new. If I ever get enough miles on the Malibu to get rid of it, it “only” has 85,000 or so now, I’ll probably get an electric or hybrid of some sort. Never Ford and Never Tesla.

What year is your Malibu? I have a very soft spot for the late 60s to early 70s models.

I've bought exactly one new car, and it had the most problems of any car I've owned so far. Between today's prices, instant depreciation in most cases, and the unwanted junk tarting them up, I doubt I'll ever buy new again.

It’s a 2015. Almost new. Had around 60,000 miles when I bought. It’s my favorite vehicle ever.

I had a colleague that had a similar vintage Impala, and that thing runs like a striped ape. Fast and pretty well configured(plenty of creature comforts), but it was a total sleeper

I drive less than 3K miles per year and do not expect that number to increase. I bought a new car a few years ago, and it will probably last me until I no longer am able to drive.

I do wonder when policymakers will figure out how to tax EV's to pay for road, because right now they are free riders on the Gas Tax that maintains the road.

I expect when they start to do that, Elon will have a hissyfit. And it will be glorious to walk.

For the record, EV's are HEAVY, and do tear up the roads more than a typical gas car. They need to help fund road building and maintenance
