there's a very important aspect to this involving where a lot of the money came from (and almost all of it came through): China (specifically fraudsters already indicted by the SEC and connected to the global money laundering industry)

This one section from that post lays bare the game:

"Let me give you one final important insight: the only difference between bitcoin and a memecoin like FartCoin is that bitcoin came first. In other words, bitcoin is a memecoin. A lot of people have convinced themselves they don’t understand bitcoin when in reality they understand bitcoin just fine, they just can’t believe it could be as stupid as the thing they are envisioning. But it is exactly that stupid."

Yup, I have been telling people this for more than a decade

My brother, who doesn’t have two nickels, mentioned crypto to me and I almost strangled him thru the phone. He has a slight learning disability and I spelled the word DISASTER and made him promise me to leave it alone. 🙄

How do you ascertain worth? It seems unsustainable to me.

Can we tax crypto for using our electrical power? If we don’t have turbines and solar how can we maintain the grid.

This is what worries me. The amount of power to mine crypto is a ginormous energy drain. Enjoy your crypto by candlelight? 🙄

It is absolutely gambling, and people lose their shirts and more all the time to gambling. What’s really cool is that this type of gambling is fine with the talibangelicals, who otherwise consider gambling to be the work of satan. How awesome is that?

Just like salting a mine. Crazy 😜. I don’t understand how you invest in something that isn’t tangible.

Is it wrong that I’m not sorry that people have or will be taken to the cleaners by the crypto scam? If so, I don’t want to be right.
