This guy got rich (and crippled) by going for a run after large rain storm and with hurricane force winds blew down a large tree on a neighbor’s ranch. The tree hit Abbott and crippled him; so he sued his neighbor for Millions; for HIS stupidity for running in that kind of weather & basically an act of god.
Then When HE got into power He signed a law severely restricting how much Anyone Else could sue for damages!

You know that if the perp was black he would not have stood a chance getting pardoned. This is so sad and infuriating. I hope the civil trial will take all his money. Because there will be another civil suit. I’m unsure if he can be charged federally for this.
There are places where, when something like this happens, the victim’s family takes care of hiring professionals who will deliver justice to the perpetrators swiftly, cleanly, and without any drama. When it is clear that the system is there to protect those from the dominant caste, you get around the system.
I couldn’t believe he did this. The guy was convicted and sentenced. Abbott needs to go!
