My younger brother was a fan, and he got me into listening to them. It wasn't until years later when I was with my former wife that I discovered Tull, and especially Ian Anderson, were part of the British Folk Rock movement that included Fairport Convention, Pentangle, and her favorite group Steeleye Span. I also discovered that Ian Anderson produced some of Steeleye Span's albums for Chrysalis Records, and Maddy Prior sung backup on Jethro Tull's TOO OLD TO ROCK 'N' ROLL, TOO YOUNG TO DIE!
I didn’t realize this was Bach! Although his 2 and 3 part inventions were the bane of my piano lessons, I do love “classical” music. But I much prefer the Jethro Tull version, in this case. Thank you for finding and posting these!
Excellent music is excellent music and I think one of the true test is for that music to remain excellent across genres, across time, and across performances.
Anytime someone tells me that the flute isn't a serious instrument, I point them at the original madman, Ian Anderson. He truly makes it dance and sing
Thank you! Terrific! 👍😎
I saw "Jethro Tull" and my ears perked right up!

This lifted my spirits today. Thank you so much.

It is just magical, isn't it?
This is the bit of music that started me down the Boureé rabbit hole: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DFc9UkUED1M
Wow!!! I don’t even know how to describe his talent. Yngwie Malmsteen must be from another planet! 🎸👏
He is. I think he was like 21 then, and he just appeared all at once.
