Music: Nothing Else Matters how you've never heard it before

It's been a while, but the incomparable Anneke van Giersbergen is a true treasure, inspired by a cover of Nothing Else Matters by Ms. van Giersbergen and the Dutch National Orchestra, this is a hat tip to Anneke

Music: Nothing Else Matters how you've never heard it before

It's been a minute or two since I posted some music. The events of the world <waves hands> have been impossible to ignore, and thus my oxegen has been taken.

That said, I started this draft a while back. It is a chilling vocal rendition of a hard-hitting Metallica staple, Nothing Else Matters, covered by the Dutch National Orchestra.

Anneke van Giersbergen is not a household name in the US, but she has a huge following in Europe, having provided vocals on many projects and bands, as well as her own band Vuur.

My first awareness of her was from a Devin Townsend album, Addicted! where she provided her distinctive vocals.

Later, she appeared on several of Arjen Anthony Lucassen's Ayreon projects (I recommend 01011001 if you want that full rock-opera experience)

Lately, she has released a couple of EP's that will be part of a larger album as she processes the passing of her parents (the EPs are titled "La Vie" and "La Morte")

Addicted:(Anneke is dancing next to him)

Lastly, VUUR's My Champion:

Just the break that life needs this fine day...

And she plays guitar too.
