July 12, 2026 - The Week in Review
A day late, sorry, Saturday got out of control for me.
Sunday, July 5th: A read on the perennial argument (often fronted by the Never Trump crew) about the Can, vs. Will in the context of winning. This was pre-planner meltdown:

Monday, July 6th: Not only my first day back from a week's holiday, but the Billionaire Victims Club continued apace with a piece about Sergey Brin:

Tuesday, July 7th: The night before, Graham Platner's senate bid was all but dead, and that caused me to resurrect a draft that had been in my backlog about women, misogyny, and the (erroneous) perception by people like Matt Stoller that DEI increased the ranks of women in the professional classes without merit. I compare my experience at SJSU in the early 1980's (the physics department) and the current gender balance for CCNA holders, and the truth is that all this hype about DEI, and "Woke" is hogwash. I also discuss the Gamergate and how the rise of social media has enabled some really fucked up behaviors:

Wednesday, July 8th: More Billionaire Victims Club, this time, I dive into Mark Zuckerberg:

Friday, July 10th: Another from the cornucopia of Billionaire fuckery, this time I get to one that had he not aligned so closely with Trump, purchased TikTok, and funded the CBS/Paramount/Disney and now Discovery/HBO/WB mergers this his repo fails, David Ellison, he wouldn't have risen to earn one, but fuck him, time to look at Larry fuckin' Ellison:

Saturday, July 11: In the aftermath of the tepid affirmation of the 14th amendment case by the SCOTUS, David French took to his "Newsletter" to dive into the Republican's infatuation with blood and soil nationalism, with some blinders on. The gold though came from the comment section:

I am going to avoid dunking on Lindsey "Lady-G" Graham who passed away at 71 suddenly on Saturday evening, but I am enjoying the notes I am seeing.
